Named after its developer, the Kater pendulum is a reversible pendulum that enables the accurate study of the acceleration due to EarthÍs gravity.
The pendulum can be swung from either of two pivot points; when the mass distribution of the pendulum is adjusted so that the periods are the same from either pivot, then the period is the same as a simple pendulum having a length equivalent to the distance between the two pivots, enabling you to determine the value of gravity to an accuracy of ±0.1%.
The pendulum is constructed from nickel plated steel with polished brass bobs and includes a wall-mount bracket and full experimental manual.
