Demonstrate the startling differences in the Meissner Effect and levitation capabilities of two superconductors: 1) the advanced bismuth-based superconducting material and 2) the older ytterbium-based material. The bismuth-based material creates some very visually striking displays. Includes: 2.5cm ytterbium-based material disk, 2.5 m bismuth-based material disk, two rare earth magnets, non-magnetic tweezers and a detailed instruction manual with safety information. Note: This kit requires, but does not include, liquid nitrogen (commonly sold by welders’ supply houses).
