Each solid fuel engine provides the thrust and the timing for recovery system ejection indicated on its label. To pick the right engine, know what that label means:Engines come in packages of three, four, or 24, with igniters and instructions.The engine type is coded as follows — an A8-3 engine means:A: Total impulse/power of the engine. “B” engines deliver twice the power of “A” engines and “C” twice the power of “B”8: Engine’s average thrust in Newtons.3: Delay in seconds between engine burnout and ignition ofthe recovery system ejection charge.
