CENCO Motor-Driven Rotator with Digital Display

Precise, digital measurement allows you to monitor the motor speed, or measure the total revolutions in a time period you select.

Our premium motor driven rotator is packed with features:
  • Powerful-D.C. motor delivers 200-1800 rpm at max torque of .11Nm
  • Secure and Convenient-Keyless chuck accepts spindles 1.6mm to 9.5mm
  • Electronic Controls-Easily regulates motor functions and
  • Adjustable Angle-Motor mount rotates easily to any of four convenient positions.
  • A special guide pin locks it in place.

Choose the direction of rotation, either clockwise or counterclockwise rotation with the simple push of a “forward/reverse” button that is interlocked with the motor speed. A heavy-cast base provides nearly vibration-free operation, even with the heaviest objects.

Size: 28 x 28 x 11.5cm high, weight: 8.2kg. Operates on 120 VAC, 60Hz at 1 ampere, 1.8m cord.

Improve the resolution and control stability of the Motor Driven Rotor with this upgraded electronics package.

It includes advanced motor smoothing and a closed loop digital control system that actively monitors and controls the rotational speed of the motor, using the existing sensor system for detecting the motor speed.

The control range is 200-1800 rpm and the speed is controlled to within 5rpm at the lower end of the range and 10rpm at the upper end. Display the set speed and advance or reduce it by 1 rpm increments by using the up and down arrows.

You can also use the fast forward button to advance or reduce speed in 50 rpm increments. When the buttons are released, the display reverts to the current actual speed. The control system changes the motor speed to the new set value.

To upgrade your current Motor Driven Rotor with this electronics package, call Sargent-Welch for details.

centripetal Force Apparatus
Reviewed By: Mr. Mason (Des Moines, Iowa)
This product works fine. The Centripetal Force apparatus that goes in the drill has to be put in correctly, or it will not work correctly. If the part that goes in the drill is a half cylinder, it will not be balanced. By carefully aligning the two edges of the half cylinder to the inside of the drill, it operates good. I have done this experiment for 13 years and it has worked very well for the students. It is also very important for the base of the rotator to be on a somewhat level surface. Imagine operating something that spins really fast (like this done) on an un-level surface! It would be a disaster, and potentially very dangerous, but with the proper teacher guidance and set-up, there is no problem. this experiment shows exactly how the concept of centripetal force works. With a centripital apparatus that has a cylindrical shape for the base that goes in the drill, it is very easy to insert and set up. I would recommend it to any competent educator.

I would also add that these motors turn in opposite directions when in the forward position. Overall we are severely disappointed with this product.

poor performance

We purchased two of these devices last year. Both are unstable at all speeds and produce a high pitched whine. The digital adjustment is very broad and not predictable at any speed. I returned one to the manufacturer and after several months of trying to get it back they finally returned it after I personally called the president of the company. It is still faulty. This equipment is a poor choice for any learning environment.
