Accurately measure the timing for cart collisions and free fall with this precise photogate timing system. The unique unit operates with either one or two of the included photogates, features an attachment for electromagnetic release, and can be calibrated to display timing to the tenth, hundredth, or thousandth of a second. The unit’s input channels are used with photogates butcan also be used with mechanical switches to measure time intervals between the first input activation and the second input activation. One input shadow time means that what is measured is the shadow time in a single input.
Different modes allow versatility of use. When the GO button is pushed there is a choice of three operating modes depending on the START MODE setting — E.L.M. (electromagnet only) or Two Input Time Interval. The ELM setting is designated for when an electromagnet is connected; it will be started instead of the electronic timer when using this mode. If the START MODE selected was Two Input Time Interval, when the first input is activated, the electronic timer starts to count and when the second input is activated, the electronic counter stops. If the START MODE was settled in One Input Time Interval, the single input will be activated and the shadow time is recorded. THe ELM + TIMER mode uses the electromagnet and timer together. Independently, from the START MODE setting the first activation of any input will stop the electronic counter.
