CENCO Thermoelectric Effects Apparatus |
Investigate the thermal characteristics of three devices commonly used for temperature measurement — a copper resistor, a thermocouple, and a thermistor — in the range 20°C to 100°C. This advanced apparatus is unique in it’s design and versatile in it’s applications. It includes heater, cooling fan, and a closed loop control system with a controller that can be operated in P, PI, or Pill mode. This system allows the characteristic behavior of such control systems to be studied with precision.
The probe unit consists of an axial heater, two thermocouples, a thermistor and a three-lead resistor, all mounted in a massive brass cylinder, measuring 40mm in diameter and 67mm long. The cylinder iteslf is suspended on two thin screws to minimize conduction losses, and the entire probe is contained in a polished metal heat shield with vent holes and a cooling fan in the bottom. An insulated flask is provided for the cold junction of the studied thermocouple. The probe unit is connected to the control unit by three shielded multi-lead cables. The control unit contains the digital temperature controller with displays for the set point and actual temperature, a potentiometer and display for controlling the heater current, the fan switch, and binding post outputs for the three studied devices. An instruction manual is provided. Both digital multimeter and cables are required, and available separately. 110VAC. Size: Shielded Probe Unit: 37cmH x 14cm W x 22cm D; weight 5.1 kg. Control Unit: 13cm H x 35cm W x 31cm D; weight 5.2 kg.
