Demonstrate a variety of wave characteristics including pulse, shape, superposition and reflection.
A wide 7cm diameter slinky and a thinner 2cm spring coil will exhibit different wave characteristics when used separately.
However, when linked with the included cotton cord, you will see the change in wave length as the wave passes from one spring to the other. The reflected and transmitted pulses at their boundary will have approximately equal amplitudes.
This economical set includes the two springs, both of which stretch to 9 meters, and a 3meter cotton cord.
